Olson III is a rarely-performed masterpiece by Terry Riley. Originally composed for a high-school in Sweden in 1966, it caused a controversy at its premiere due to the novel use of repeated cells and non-standard musical structures. It is written for "any instruments and voice".
The Aurora Scratch Orchestra is a group of musicians drawn from the local region, curated by innovative local composer, Warren Summers. This is one occasion that is sure to be memorable in a multitude of ways. Its free-form musical processes may well overflow into the surrounding environments.
